Who to trust?

This week’s post is about Covid-19 again (I know we are sorry about this as well). There is now a divergence amongst the devolved governments in the UK. The Scottish Government has now stated that mask wearing and LFT will be with us until at least mid April, and not as previously stated 21/3/22.

New data is showing an increase and a spike in Covid-19 cases with Omicron B being the dominant strain now in the UK.

For the time being, we would advise all clients, wherever possible, to still keep up with whatever “restrictions” they can, facemasks, social distancing etc.

All legal restrictions have now ceased in England/Wales. After 1/4/22 in England and Wales you will no longer be able to obtain free LFT kits.

The issues then for employers, are that if you wish to have your employees test for Covid, you are going to have to provide them with the kits and pay for them as a company which can of course get expensive.

You do not have to do so, but if you want to have employees tested, the employees are not going to want to have to pay for their kits themselves.
